Paper bags

Ooh it's raining... :)
Coach made us run 2.4 AGAIN today :( and it only rained AFTER we ran.
And I'm umpiring for the B Div on Mon, Wed and Fri next week so I'm gonna miss lots of school!
YAY!
Oh and I also played doubles with Lizzie against Julia and Sarah/Nichole (They switched halfway). We won 7-5! Woo!!
OH and Nadal is playing semifinals now... and he's LOSING!! ooh.
Yay Federer is through to the finals! Go Federer! Win win win!
Tonight is the Sec One Parent's Briefing. Is anyone gonna go? I don't think I am.
Today in Bio, Mrs Chow was like talking about Kipper the Dog (?) and his friend "Tiger". While we were learning about cells. Hm.
Oh and Lao Shi... when he gets hyper and excited, then he gets harder to understand, and he like sounds more china-ish, and it's funny. Oh and his english is really weird too.
Label='lay-buh'
And he always say was need to "add duo [more] details" and he pronounces 'details' funny. and he keeps talking about the structures of sentences!
Ah, teachers.
Ok, moving on.
We finally decorated the class today! We covered up the two really ugly holes in the notice board at the back! Now there's black cloth on the board and with a few stars... it will look pretty :)
I totally LOVE and am OBSESSED WITH this song now! :
I will live
To carry your compassion
To love a world that's broken
To be your hands and feet
And I will give
With the life that I've been given
And go beyond religion
To see the world be changed
By the power of Your Name
Your Name
Is a shelter for the hurting
Jesus Your Name
Is a refuge for the weak
Only Your Name
Can redeem the undeserving
Jesus Your Name
Holds everything I need

Reminiscing...
Wednesday, January 28, 2009/ 8:23 PM
Let's reminisce!
Remember the time when:
-Me and Sarah were talking about 'Tommy Sullivan is a freak" By Meg Cabot, and we were thinking about what the alternate title was, and I said it was 'Liar Liar', but it actually was 'Pants on Fire". HAHA!
-Me and Lizzie were playing SPEX doubles and I hit the ball over to the opponents, and the ball bounced on the floor and hit the girl smack on the top of her head! But it wasn't my fault! She walked into it! :P
-Me and Sarah and Jean were trying to decide whether pushing the tennis balls or picking up the balls was more tiring.
-The reallyreallyreally nerdy guy on American Idol with buckteeth whose hobby was "organising Chinese characters by size, height and number of strokes" drank from Paula's coke cup while she was like, HE'S DRINKING THROUGH MY STRAW! But she mouthed it so I don't think he noticed. And he sang an opera song. Heehee!
- Me and Sarah and Debbie were talking about lame jokes. (:
- 6.6 was one class together and we were all in the same place at the same time and took each other for granted, and didn't think about when we would all go our separate ways, because we could... which we can't anymore...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Watching American Idol now! Funnyyyy! Simon: "You are BEGINNING to get on my nerves!..."
I wonder how the judges can take listening to so many of these bad auditions...
There's a guy crying now because he wasn't allowed to play his guitar in the room.
Ah, American Idol never fails to amuse me...

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
Yay Chinese New Year!
I realised that I haven't been posting photos lately so... I did. But I only took pictures with the people on my mother's side, because I forgot to bring my camera in the morning :(
So this is what happened on Chinese New Year...
Stop 1:
Father's side of the family.
Grandmother's house. We actually just meet there in the morning, then we all go out to the other houses together. So we didn't actually do anything. Except eat :) And meet Stephie and Marcus.
Stop 2:
Father's side.
Went to someone's house, just like we do every year, but I still don't know whose house it is. Hm... Collected ang baos! And gave oranges. We (Me, Stephie and Becky) didn't have much to do, so we ate cheese and crackers and watched Phineas and Ferb! But everyone was talking, so we couldn't really hear properly, so I don't really know what it was about. It's actually very hard to understand things with no sound.
Stop 3:
Still father's side.
Met Jacy and Faith (another Faith :) and also very cute) Faith was cute :) She wanted to play "Hospital" So she made us all sit on the bed while she "examined" us. Then, suddenly, she cahnged the game to "Jail", then we were all the prisoners and she was the police. Then she said that "the big jie jies are very fun!" awwwww :)
Stop 4:
Mother's side.
Raintree!
Saw FAITH in her first cheongsam! ^^
Collected more ang baos. Played Guitar Heroes... hehe.
FUN!
Oh and we saw JANNA AND JAPHIA! :)
After lunch we watched HIMYM and Wall-e!
Stop 5:
Father's side.
Grandmother's house again for dinner!
We were supposed to have pizza, but it turned out to be the "prosperity pizza" from Pizza Hut which was really gross. It was like chicken ba gua on mayonnaise and cheese and pizza bread. Ew.
So in the end we just ate crabstick and prawns and rice and chicken. Then we played Raving Rabbids! We finished Story Mode, so we played Mario Party 8!! Then we played blackjack and I made a grand total of... $1.60! Actually I was losing a lot of money, then in the last round, I bet all my money and got blackjack! :D
Okay picture time: (Actually I had a lot more photos, but I accidentally deleted them all and I don't want to upload them AGAIN, so I'll post all of them another time!)

Irresistible
Tuesday, January 20, 2009/ 6:03 PM
[I wrote this post yesterday, but I had no time to post it, so I'll post it now!]
In Raintree now!
Just saw Faith bathing. So cute!! She laughs and smiles when she's splashing the water. She's so CUTE!!!!
Had tuition before that. Bleh. Tuition teacher was wearing a shirt which said "Irresistible". (HAHAHAA)
5 Things I find Irresistible:
1. Hershey's Cookies and Cream KissesTM.
I just find them reallyreallyreally nice. Like, if I see some I'll just eat the whole bunch. Then again, I like all kinds of chocolate...
2. Blogging! :)
I love to blog! That's why I came up with the irresistible thing, when I saw my tuition teacher's shirt. After laughing to myself for a while, I was like, "Hey, I can blog about irresistible stuff!" So I am. :D
3. Morton's Steakhouse Chocolate Cake.
This is probably the best chocolate cake in the whole world. It's warm and has cake on the outside and melted chocolate on the inside! Mmmmmmm...
4. Tennis!
Well, this isn't all true, because sometimes I just really don't feel like playing tennis. But other times, when I haven't played tennis for a really long time, then I feel like I reallyreally want to play tennis. Like when we went to Perth, I didn't play tennis for like 2 weeks! Or more.
5. Geo Challenge!
If you read my blog a lot, then you should know how much I'm addicted to Geo Challenge. But since I've already beaten Sarah (HAHA!), I haven't been playing as often. Although usually when I go onto the computer, then I'll play one or two games. It's just really fun! Actually, when I first started, I hated it because I got everything wrong, and it seemed so hard. But once I played like a lot, then it got easier and more fun :)

Rene Descartes -_-
Monday, January 19, 2009/ 6:31 PM
Tennis training today was F-U-N!
We rallied and played team tennis. :)
Oh and at the end I RAN 2.4KM!!! So tiring, but we made it!! :D And today Coach gave us some GOOD NEWS! Instead of having only 11 people on the team, there will now be 12 people! Yaay! Like it makes a difference. Well, I guess it kind of does, for that one person. Yaay!
Speaking of tennis, I just got my SICC trophy! With my name engraved on it!! It says: Runner-up Girls Under 12 Singles 2008. Or something like that. It's crystal and it's pretty. :)
Ok, moving on.
So for Philosophy, I have to research on Rene Descartes. ("I think therefore I am.") Bleh. He was a pretty boring guy. Oh but I found out that he did something baaaaaaad. There was this guy, Isaacsomething, who introduced him to the "wonders of physics". And then, when he started his philosophical work, he blamed Isaac guy for stealing his work... even though the situation was more likely the reverse. Yup, go read it on wikipedia. It's all there. AND the Queen made him go to Stockholm to tutor her on Philosophy, but made him wake up at 5AM every day. This, combined with the work and the climate, caused his DEATH! Tsktsk.
If you're on Facebook, go watch this video!:

...
HAHAHA the other day, my younger cousin, Marcus was like,
"Why fart and waste it, when you can burp and taste it?"
Okaaaay...

Subjects and stuff
Friday, January 16, 2009/ 5:14 PM
Me and Lizzie are CONFIRMED on the tennis team!!!! The one with 11 spots only! EEEEEEE!!!
It's because we reached the finals in SPEX doubles, and Coach thinks we're good enough. :D
Maybe we'll play doubles! :D
I hope the rest make it too. GOOD LUCK! :)
Oh and today I'm gonna post about the different subjects in SEC ONE! Just because I thought it would be fun. :)
L.A: Ms Ng seems... kinda scary sometimes, but nice other times. The English test she gave us today, "Know Your English", which was supposed to "show her where we stand", was hard. -_-
I realised that I don't know what a compound/complex sentence is, or what are the components of a complete sentence. So I guessed.
Maths: I don't really like Ms (Mrs?) Hor. The expert teaching thing is okay though, but Math seems a lot harder in Sec school than in Primary School.
HCL: Oh yeah, I decided to take Higher Chinese. That's not really going so well for me. But I managed to write a compo today... about pencils. I think it's weird. And I finished it just in time, like exactly when the bell rang. :)
Physics: Okay, Mr Lim is just weird. Did anyone else see the shirt he was wearing during our first ISO session? The red one? Heehee. The number line is so confusing! It's like Math: Micro, nano, giga, centi... sigh
Bio: OH MY GOODNESS Mrs Chow is so boring! She seems nice and all, and she tells us funny stories, but she's like... boring. But I'm pretty excited to do the experiments and chemical stuff :) Except the lab safety talk she gave us was... boring.
Geography: Our Geog teacher ROCKS! She's so funny!!! She's my favourite teacher. :) Geography seems kind of boring though. So I guess it's good that she's our teacher.
Philosophy: Er... again, another boring subject. The bag game was the only entertaining part. We had to take a random item out of a bag and use it to describe ourselves. I got a pencil. -_-
I said that I was helpful and useful, like a pencil! :)
History: Mrs Pandian is pretty nice. We had to draw a timeline of our lives today. Uh, okay. I would have put a lot more stuff in, except I couldn't really remember the exact year. So I put basic stuff like, born, kindergarten, MGS, trip to USA, etc.
Music and Dance: I don't like music or dance, so...
IT: I LOVE IT! (Hey, since it's all in caps it looks like I'm just saying "I love it!" Which is true, but I'm really saying IT, not it, but you could think it was it and it would still have the same meaning! So even if you think it's it and not IT, it wouldn't even make a difference! Heehee!)
P.E: Yay Carolyn for being PE rep!! :P We have to do gymnastics for Term 1 and make a gymnastics routine. Which they're gonna video tape! EEEEEEK!
GEL: Through the whole of GEL I was writing down everyone's Reader's Digest cheque numbers on the class list for Ms Ng. So that was okay. And we got little token things that say "MOST POINTS" from Orientation Camp! Go 1G!
Another long post! I love long posts. They're very... satisfying. Oh and I probably left out some subjects (maybe), but if I did, it's because they probably weren't very memorable, so there's no point posting them anyway! :)

Tennis and tryouts and math and lame jokes and happiness!
Tuesday, January 13, 2009/ 6:12 PM
I MADE THE TENNIS TEAM!
WE ALL MADE THE TENNIS TEAM!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
:)
So yesterday was tennis tryouts.
It was really scary and all of us were like really nervous. Coach told us that we would do drills, and if he doesn't think we're good enough, then he'll send us home. That made all of us really scared. Then in the middle of the first drill he asked me to sit out. Then Lizzie. Then Debbie. Then Carolyn. Then Michelle. Then about half of the others. And he told the rest to go home. Then it was ROUND TWO! Actually, this didn't seem as bad as the first one, so we were all asked to sit out again. And then there were 9... (HAHA) (Uh, you won't get this unless you know the book.) Then we all served and stuff and WE ALL MADE IT! Yup, all nine. Even though there are only 5 spots for the team. So we all train as a team until the tournament, in March, when we will have another round of trials to see who gets to play. Which was kind of a mood-killer. But I'm still psyched :D
I meant to post yesterday but I had SO MUCH TO DO!
In class, we each have to teach one topic to our group. Mine is "Find out the square roots and cube roots of a number using prime factorisation." So first I had to learn about prime factorisation, then figure out how to find out square/cube roots using it. To top it all off, I left my Math textbook in school. :( But I managed to scrape through, kind of.
Oh our Math teacher was like, " See the slide? Singapore's Brainiest Child. SBC! You see? Singapore's Brainiest Child, SBC! I made this just for you!" Silence. "DO YOU LIKE IT?" Hilarious. But you kind of had to be there, because now that I read it, it doesn't seem so funny.
Oh and for LA, we have to read the book of short stories, "A Sense of Belonging". Bo-ring. At least it's in English.
Anyway.
Then today I had tuition! Oh man boringboringboring. Through almost all of tuition, I was just thinking about what I would blog about, which is why this post is longer than usual. Not that I wasn't paying attention or anything. I can multi-task. Kind of.
Oh and tomorrow is our first tennis training! I'm excited :)
I'm like super happy right now because tuition is over and we're having dinner at Raintree and possibly see Faith and tennis training is tomorrow!
Oh and today on the way back from school, me, Sarah and Debbie were reminiscing about lame jokes!
Becky: Hey, look under there! *points outside car*
Debbie: Under where?
Rachel: HAHA you said underwear!!
*Laughter*
-Talking about DISC profiling-
Debbie: I think if I take the test again, my I will be higher.
Sarah: Haha, EYE will be higher! *pretends to remove eyeball and places it on forehead*
*Laughter*
-At the fish and chips place in Perth-
Becky: Hey look! *Points to "Chilli Mussels" sign* Chilli mussels! Chilli MUSCLES!
Rachel: Oh yeah... I was gonna make a joke about that but I thought it would be lame.
*Laughter... only from Debbie, since she was the only one there. *
Haha. Lame. But funny!!!
There are probably lots more lame jokes that we've made. Lots.
Wow. This was a long post. Yippee! :)

Orientation Camp!
Saturday, January 10, 2009/ 10:56 AM
Orientation camp was SO FUN!
Our PBs (Tinghui and Zoe) were awesome!
The games were fun!
1G ROCKS!
Day 1
Morning tea! There were McDonald's bags, so me and Carolyn were all excited, thinking that we would be having hashbrowns or fries or something, but it was just apple pie. Which were nice, but they were really gooey and hard to eat. But nice :)
Station games and water games! Pretty alike, except water games just included water. Fun :)
Then we went to Hort Park for a walk. With doughnuts for tea. i love doughnuts! Especially chocolate ones! <3
Then we had to shower. I don't even want to talk about how yucks that was. But it could have been worse. Maybe.
Then after dinner... Mass dance.
The dance instructor was... bleh. "Bounce girlies! BOUNCE! Bend those knees!"
Then at 11, we went to sleep.
Day 2
Rolled up sleeping bag, washed up, went for assembly, then breakfast.
Then a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long talk by Mrs Ruth Sim about "How to study smart". I think lots of people fell asleep, including the PBs and SLs.
Then, FINALLY, morning tea! I kind of forgot what we had... OH I KNOW! The fruit tart thing! That was yummy :)
Then we practiced our class cheer! Haha our class cheer was awesome :D
And then we had "It's a mystery!" We were supposed to solve a "mystery" by getting clues by completing different stations. That was pretty fun, except some of the stations' locations were messed up. And at one station we were supposed to write a song with "I saw him and he saw me" as the first line.
I saw him and he saw me
Then we clicked immediately
Then he said he cared for me
I was so touched I had to pee
Then we married happily
And had many a baby
Yay!
Unfortunately, no one found the kidnapper because we were too late.
Oh well.
After that we had tea! Again! And we had ice cream!!!! Yum :)
Then we had dinner (japanese rice, chicken, eel (ew), and fishcake) and last rehearsal for mass dance with the instructor screaming at us.
Then we had the campfire!!!!
We did the mass dance. Instructor: "Oh, the girls were so good. They were so cooperative." Ha. Ha. Ha.
And we sang songs and cheered our heads off.
Which brings us to...
PRIZE PRESENTATION!
1G won OVERALL MOST POINTS!
WOO!
GO ONEGEE!!!!
Then it was really time to go home.
But we're all seeing each other on Monday again. :)
But I was still sad that camp was over. :(
Oh, and does anyone else think that:
Mrs Low is kind of like Mrs Mabel Lee?
and Ms Su is like a mix of Miss Tan and Mrs Lee?
and Mrs Pandian is like Miss Menon?
Just wondering.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today
I am sick. Cold and sore throat. :(
I've sneezed approximately eight nine times while writing this post. Cool.
If I don't get better by tennis tryouts, I will be very very very extremely sad and angry.

1G!
Monday, January 5, 2009/ 3:36 PM
I'm in 1G!
My form teacher, Ms Ng, seemed nice, but it was just the first day, so its hard to tell...
Yay I love my class :)
So in the morning, after we found out our classes, we went for Chapel! It's amazing how high that lady can sing. And how Chapel ended at exactly 8.15, like they said. Haha.
Then we had SBC briefing, then we played games! That was fun! Except it was really hot. Oh and we played the game where we find people who can do different things to sign your paper. And I had to wiggle my ears in front of everyone.
1 thing i DO NOT like about Sec One:
the classroom. The desks are really dirty, and the chairs make that sharp nails-meets-blackboard sound. :S
But other than that, Sec One seems okay. :)
Oh and it's raining now!
I love rain :)

Sec One!
Friday, January 2, 2009/ 6:13 PM
First day of school!
Orientation was... okay.
The speeches were kinda boring. And kinda long. Heh.
Oh and there's no one from 6.6 in my group! And hardly anyone I know! :(
Then we had icebreakers. I hate icebreakers.
The tour of the school was SO LONG! It seemed long, anyway. There were all these long speeches about every single thing that we passed.
Alison (Michelle's sister) was my group leader :)
I'm not really excited or nervous about Sec One, actually. I'm kind of neutral :)
I really wanted to know my class! But we only find out on Monday :(
Oh, and I had to take off my nail polish. :(
Then after school, Sarah, Debbie, Becky and me went to McDonald's for lunch, then took a bus back to Raintree. Where I had tuition. Needless to say, I hate tuition too. :(
I didn't post yesterday, so HAPPY BELATED NEW YEAR! Hope everyone has an awesome year ahead :)
